風が少し強くなり、やや寒さを感じながら待っているとようやくバスはやってきた。小倉から乗った客が多く、門司からは十人ほどしか乗らなかったにも関わらず車内は満席となった。定刻（16時）どおり門司駅前を出発したが、途中渋滞に巻き込まれてしまった。連休中の行楽日和であれば当然ではある.. 予定時刻を回ると判断した運転手は（おそらく船側に）電話連絡したのだけれど、今度は5分刻みで向こうから位置確認の電話がかかってくるようになった。きょうび、バスの運転手を急かすとは、なかなかブラックな会社ではなかろうか。別に多少遅れたって船は大丈夫だろうから、安全運転で走って欲しいところである。
20分程遅れて桟橋に到着。乗船ビルで申込書を提出して料金を払う。（日記より）
