時刻表で三原の一駅前で乗り継ぐつもりだったが、車内案内でもそれを勧めていた。糸崎では20分ほど待ち時間ができたのでいったん改札を出て（朝や夕方は有人らしいが、昼は無人だった）付近を眺める。道路を渡った反対側にコンビニがあったので昼食を買い出して戻る。地元の人以外は１８きっぷを使った旅行者が多いようで、同乗の男に話しかけられたので、歩きながら応じたのだが大阪から出てきて行き当たりばったりで大分まで行くという。それから熊本へ抜けるらしい。ホテルの手配をしていないのは失敗だろうと思ったのだが言わないでおいた。（日記より）
